Putting SpongeBob to work! Graphic merchandise re-imagined for older fans
Drawing inspiration from vintage cleaning service advertisements, this playful and nostalgic graphic concept features everyone's favourite cartoon sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants running away from a soapy hand about to be dunked in a bucket for car washing.
To pay homage to the limitations of vintage printing techniques, I opted for a classic single colour red print on an off-white base. In order to achieve an authentic retro feel, I also incorporated typography and branding reminiscent of vintage cleaning products and sponges.
